Views of China – Animation
Eleven hand-drawn, animated loops shaped into one film that describes the China that I have experienced. Beautiful aspects, but also points of conflict. Each one with a unique, individual concept.
Immerse yourself in a strange world. Experience China in a new way and join me on my journey of living in a Chinese city with 24 million inhabitants for half a year.
A small insight into this huge, fascinating world. The shortfilm is also the final part of my Master’s thesis (at University of Applied Sciences FH Joanneum Graz, Austria).

In addition to the eleven hand-drawn, animated loops the shortfilm also contains hand-drawn intro and credits. All made frame by frame.

A detailed description of each animated loop is currently only available in German as an excerpt from my thesis. If you are interested in a pdf or English translation, feel free to contact me via email, I'm happy to send it to you.

In addition to the film there is a book which brakes down the entire process from research to the final animations. It packs six months of work into a collection of thoughts, ideas and history.
